Let’s face it, people are doing it tough, with food, rents, mortgages, energy bills and the list goes on and on and on and on.
If re-elected I will be asking for Council to do another review, as they did around 10 years ago, which found $10 million in expected saves etc. Which was not acted upon.
I will (as I have for the past 4 years) ask council to stop excess spending on non-core activities and projects that do not directly benefit the greater community.
No fringe projects that only support a small minority of the people of Bendigo and get back to the basics of council.
I will also be asking for a review on the change to RED domestic rubbish bin pickups that was changed to fortnightly, as many other councils have reversed direction on this as well.
I have also asked that council do a review on what are council core responsibilities, in the changing environment.
We need to return to a common sense approach and a return to council’s core values.
When you vote this election, make sure you are voting for someone, not pushing their own agenda, council’s agenda or their party’s agenda.
The only agenda, that should be high priority, is your, the ratepayers and residents of Bendigo’s agenda.
